Lulu brings grand Vishu feast and festive deals to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: In a major push to bring Kerala’s Vishu celebrations closer to expatriates, Lulu Hypermarket has rolled out an extensive festive campaign across Saudi Arabia, offering a mix of traditional cuisine, cultural elements, and aggressive seasonal discounts.

At the centre of the celebrations is an elaborate Vishu sadya, featuring 24 traditional dishes including rice, avial, sambar, kalan, olan, rasam, and pickles, prepared in authentic Kerala style. The full meal is priced at 29.99 riyals, with advance booking open until April 14. Customers can collect their orders on April 15 within designated time slots either from stores or through online delivery. Individual dishes are also available for purchase in customised quantities.

Adding to the festive spread, LuLu has introduced a dedicated payasam festival with 15 varieties ranging from ada pradhaman to milk-based desserts. Sugar-free options are included, along with bulk ordering facilities for homes and offices, signalling a large-scale preparation to meet high demand.

The campaign also extends beyond food, offering discounts on essential Vishu items such as banana leaves, traditional vegetables, rice varieties, spices, ghee, chips, and jaggery products. Arrangements for Vishukkani are also in place, with Kanikkonna flowers (Indian Laburnum), fruits, and vegetables stocked across outlets.

With additional offers on kitchenware and household items, LuLu’s large-scale rollout reflects an aggressive attempt to capture the festive market among the Malayali diaspora.
