Actress Nidhhi Agarwal mobbed at Hyderabad’s Lulu Mall, police flag major security lapse

Actress Nidhhi Agarwal was mobbed by fans at Hyderabad’s Lulu Mall during the song launch of her upcoming film, The Raja Saab, exposing a major security lapse by the event organisers.

Chaotic scenes unfolded as the actress exited the venue, with fans breaching her personal space and leaving her visibly uncomfortable and scared. She was seen holding tightly to her clothes to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.

The video also showed one or two bouncers struggling to push the mob aside and get the actress to her car.

Police later confirmed that the event managers had not taken prior permission for the gathering, resulting in the absence of official security arrangements despite a large turnout. No injuries were reported, but authorities are expected to take action against the mall management for the oversight.

A producer associated with the actress said the incident left her shaken. “She is quite shocked. Being caught amid unruly crowds without proper security was disturbing. The organisers are clearly to be blamed,” the producer said.

Celebrity manager Giridhar, who has previously organised events with Nidhhi Agarwal in Andhra Pradesh, said the incident should serve as a warning for organisers. He stressed that meticulous planning is essential to managing large crowds. “I stay in touch with showroom management at least 15 days before an event. We assess the expected crowd and decide the number of bouncers accordingly. A proper human chain is crucial,” he said.

Giridhar noted that smaller towns often draw massive crowds, sometimes exceeding one lakh people, due to aggressive local promotions. “For open events, at least 30 to 40 bouncers are required. The actress must be escorted safely from the car to the venue and back,” he added.

Recalling past experiences, Giridhar cited successful crowd control at an event with actress Sreeleela in Srikakulam district, while also mentioning a disturbing incident involving Samantha in Tirupati, where inadequate security led to a fan getting too close. “Popular actresses need strong security, and organisers should never cut corners,” he said.

Following the viral visuals from the Lulu Mall incident, Hyderabad police booked the mall management and the event company, Shreyas Media, for lack of security and poor planning. Police said basic crowd management measures were not taken, resulting in a serious invasion of the actress’s privacy.
