Cannes: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt captivated audiences at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival's closing ceremony by walking the red carpet in a saree created by luxury fashion house Gucci. The ensemble, hailed as Gucci’s first-ever saree, marked a striking blend of traditional Indian attire with high fashion. Crafted from sheer fabric, the saree featured a reticulate pattern intricately embellished with silver sequins and Swarovski crystals. It was paired with a minimal bralette-style blouse, allowing the heavily adorned drape to take centre stage.
Alia, who is the global brand ambassador for Gucci, shared photos of her look on Instagram, captioning them, "Happy, sunny day at #Cannes2025 @lorealparis @gucci."
The 2025 edition of the prestigious international film festival concluded on Saturday evening, drawing the presence of global icons such as Jane Fonda, Viola Davis, Elle Fanning, jury president Juliette Binoche, and Cate Blanchett. This marked Alia’s second appearance at the Cannes red carpet, following her debut the previous day in an off-shoulder fishtail gown from Schiaparelli haute couture.
Earlier on Saturday, she was also seen wearing a bright yellow, custom-made three-piece crepe wool skirt suit, also by Gucci. Alia Bhatt continues to represent India on global fashion platforms, not only as Gucci’s ambassador but also as the face of L'Oréal Paris, which celebrated its 28th year at the Cannes gala.
