Anticipation is mounting for Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, the upcoming Netflix original 'Ba***ds of Bollywood', as Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos offered glowing praise for the series during his appearance at WAVES Summit 2025.
When asked by actor Saif Ali Khan about the Netflix show he’s most excited about, Sarandos didn’t hesitate: “We have a show called 'Ba***ds of Bollywood' coming up. That is really fun. I’m going to leave the audience to figure out the full title. But it’s so fun. I’ve seen four episodes already. You’ll be getting it soon too.”
The series marks the directorial debut of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, and is co-created by Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, who also collaborated with Aryan on the script.
Industry heavyweight Karan Johar has also expressed strong support for Aryan's creative talents. In a recent conversation with Raj Shamani, Karan said, “I have huge belief in Aryan Khan’s directorial talent. I won’t reveal much about the Netflix series because he’ll be upset, but all I’ll say is—watch out. If there’s a King, there will be a Prince.”
Johar went on to emphasise Aryan’s individuality and dedication, stating, “He’s not the person you’d expect Shah Rukh Khan’s son to be. He’s quiet, independent, and incredibly hardworking. He puts in 20-hour workdays and doesn’t carry the weight of his father’s legacy. He’s a rare personality type.”
'Ba***ds of Bollywood' features Lakshya (known for Kill) and Sahher Bambba in lead roles, and is packed with high-profile cameos from Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh. The cast also includes Bobby Deol and Mona Singh in pivotal roles, with Karan Johar himself making an extended appearance. The project is produced by Gauri Khan.
