Airtel launches new international roaming plans with unlimited data and in-flight connectivity

Airtel has rolled out two new international roaming plans for its Indian postpaid users, offering unlimited data and voice services across 189 countries.

These newly introduced plans, priced at ₹2,999 and ₹3,999, come with validity periods of 10 days and 30 days respectively. Both plans are now listed on the telecom operator’s official website and were first highlighted by tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings).

One of the standout features of the ₹3,999 plan is its in-flight connectivity benefits. Subscribers can avail 100 minutes of outgoing calls, 100 free SMS, and 250MB of data for 24 hours while flying - making it an attractive option for frequent flyers. Meanwhile, both plans include 100 minutes of combined incoming and outgoing calls per day.

Airtel emphasised that users do not need to change their SIM cards to activate these plans. The benefits are triggered automatically upon reaching an international destination, ensuring a hassle-free roaming experience.

These plans aim to provide greater convenience and value to international travelers by simplifying connectivity while abroad. The launch also follows a similar move by rival telecom provider Vi, which recently introduced international roaming packs - both prepaid and postpaid - targeted at users traveling to the Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
