Jaipur: A stray bear is causing trouble in the Rajasthan village of Bajoli by breaking into homes close to the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, NDTV reported.
For several weeks, the villagers are in fear as the animal roams at night entering houses, breaking doors and windows.
The animal is reported to be snatching milk, ghee and curd after ransacking houses for foods.
The forest officials put up a cage in order to lure the animal into it, which did not work, villagers said.
Footage from the area showed the heavy-set animal coming out of a house with food in its mouth.
As it walked over to the fence, the food in its mouth looked like a carton of milk or curd. A dog was seen following the bear.
The villagers have urged the authorities to send a rescue team to catch the bear.
Also, a tiger on the loose from the Ranthambore National Park was spotted near a helipad in Rajasthan this morning.
The big cat was hiding in the bushes close to the Sherpur helipad, officials said.
Officials rushed to the spot and tranquilised the animal before taking it back to the forest.
Authorities have alerted visitors to be cautious after frequent sighting of big cats in the area close to Ranthambore, which is home to over 70 tigers.
Last month a suspected man-eater tigress was caught from inside a hotel in Ranthambore.
The big cat, hiding behind a cottage meant for tourists, was tranquilised before released into an enclosure inside the national park.
A seven-year-old boy, who was vising a temple inside the Ranthambore National Park with his grandmother and uncle, was carried off a by tiger in April.
The grandmother said the tiger leapt from undergrowth and bit into his neck, and dragged him into the bushes.
