Bengaluru bans son-veg restaurants, meat stalls during these days!!

Bengaluru: Ahead of the 15th edition of Aero India, which is to be held in Yelahanka here from January 23 to February 17, the Bengaluru civic boy ordered the closure of meat stalls and non-vegetarian restaurants on Saturday, NDTV reported.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) reasoned that serving and selling in-vegetarian food items’ littered in public places would attract scavenger birds such as kites, which would cause mid-air accidents during the event.

As per the mandate, the mentioned establishments will be shuttered within 13 km of the Yelahanka Air Force Station.

BBMP said in a statement, "It is intimated that the Aero India-2025 show is scheduled to be held at Air Force Station Yelahanka from 10.02.2025 to 14.02.2025. On account of this, it is to the notice of the general public and proprietors of meat stalls and non-vegetarian hotels/restaurants for closure of all meat/chicken/fish shops and prohibition on serving/sale of non-vegetarian dishes within 13 km radius of Airforce station Yelahanka from 23rd January 2025 to 17th February 2025.”

The violation of the order will lead to punishment under the BBMP Act 2020 and Rule 91 of the Indian Aircraft Rules 1937.
