Bengaluru: In a deeply disturbing case, a college girl was allegedly raped by her two lecturers and their friend in Bengaluru, police confirmed on Tuesday. All three accused have been arrested by the Marathahalli Police after the case was brought forward by the Karnataka State Women’s Commission.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Narendra, Sandeep—both lecturers at a private college in Moodbidri town, Mangaluru district—and their friend Anup.
According to police, Narendra, who taught physics and was closely acquainted with the victim, initially gained her trust by providing academic assistance and study materials. He allegedly lured her to a friend’s room in Marathahalli, where he raped her. He then reportedly threatened her to remain silent about the incident.
Subsequently, Sandeep, who taught biology, also attempted to rape the girl. When she resisted, he allegedly blackmailed her using photos and videos from the earlier assault involving Narendra. Succumbing to pressure, the victim was taken by Sandeep to Anup’s room, where he too raped her.
The ordeal continued when Anup later contacted the victim, claiming to possess CCTV footage of her entering his room and used it to further blackmail her, police said.
Unable to endure the prolonged abuse and threats, the victim confided in her parents, who approached the Karnataka State Women’s Commission. After receiving counselling, the girl agreed to file a police complaint.
Based on the complaint, the Marathahalli Police swiftly arrested the three accused and have begun interrogations. Authorities suspect that the accused may have targeted and exploited other female students using similar methods.
Further investigation is underway, and more developments are expected.
