Lucknow: The BJP Minority Morcha will organise yoga camps in selected madrassas across all 403 Assembly constituencies of Uttar Pradesh on June 21 to mark International Yoga Day. The initiative is part of a broader outreach campaign commemorating 11 years of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to Uttar Pradesh BJP Minority Morcha president Basit Ali, the programme will focus on engaging with maulanas and madrassa students, encouraging their participation in yoga sessions as a means of promoting wellness and community engagement. The outreach aims to strengthen ties with the minority community and raise awareness of the Modi government's policies and achievements.
The campaign also includes the launch of a message-driven initiative titled “Alpsankhyako ka ye paigaam: Modi ke saath Musalman” (Minorities’ Message: Muslims are with Modi). This drive will be rolled out across major cities in Uttar Pradesh, with an emphasis on building a better understanding and support base among the Muslim community.
The main event of the campaign is being held in Lucknow on June 12, with participation from professionals and intellectuals including doctors, teachers, engineers, and lawyers. Basit Ali explained that as part of the commemorative activities, the party will conduct programmes in all 403 constituencies by targeting an equal number of madrassas. Each event will begin with yoga sessions, followed by district-level programmes that involve maulanas, students, and local community members.
A key highlight of the campaign will be the initiative “Desh Ka Paigham, Pratibha Ko Samman”, which aims to recognise and honour talented individuals from the minority community. This includes meritorious students and those who have become IAS or IPS officers, as well as those who have made significant contributions to national development.
Furthering its grassroots connect, the Morcha will also organise 'chaupals' in various constituencies. These informal community gatherings will be held outside places of worship — including temples, mosques, churches, and gurudwaras — to raise awareness about the BJP’s development work and welfare schemes.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party is committed to reaching out to minorities in Uttar Pradesh by highlighting 11 years of Prime Minister Modi’s governance, which has focused on good governance and the welfare of the poor,” Basit Ali said. “We will take these achievements directly to the people, especially Muslim intellectuals, maulanas, and influential community members. The slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ is not just a saying but a firm commitment.”
