Ghaziabad: In Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, hundreds of workers of a Hindutva right-wing organisation crowded outside a KFC outlet demanding that it shut down or stop selling meat-based products. The crowd of activists belonging to the Hindu Raksha Dal demanded that the KFC outlet sell only vegetable food since it is the Hindu’s holy month of Sravan and the Kanwar Yatra is going on. The crowd chanted slogans like “Jai Shree Ram” and “Har Har Mahadev”, Times of India reported.
The right-wing organisation staged a protest outside the KFC outlet as well as a local shop named ‘Naseer’, demanding that both shut down their businesses, and the protest caused a temporary shutdown of both establishments.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, and the protesters could be seen pulling down the shutter of the KFC outlet.

Another video showed Hindutva activists entering the food outlet shouting slogans and asking the staff to shut it down or they must serve only vegetarian dishes until the end of the Sravan month.
The head of the protesters said that their message is clear that they want all non-vegetarian food outlets to stop serving non-veg food during the Kanwar Yatra.
“If they want to remain open, they should serve vegetarian items only,” the Hindutva group warned.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad district Police informed that the protesters violated public order in the area, and Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) has been imposed in the district. They also said that a suo motu case has been registered against 10 unidentified people under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
