New Delhi: India on Saturday accused Pakistan of engaging in escalatory and provocative military actions, revealing that Pakistani forces attempted air intrusions at over 26 locations from Srinagar to Nalia, all of which were successfully neutralised by Indian forces.
Indian military officials stated that they carried out precision strikes on six Pakistani military targets – Rafiki, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Juniya – using air-launched precision weapons from fighter aircraft. These strikes specifically targeted radar sites, technical infrastructure, command and control centres, and weapon storage areas. Additional radar sites at Pasroor and Sialkot aviation were also hit using precision munitions, with officials stressing that India took measures to ensure minimal collateral damage.
Addressing the media, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, outlined the extent of Pakistan’s operations. They said Pakistani forces employed drones, loitering munitions, fighter aircraft, and heavy-calibre weapons to strike both civilian and military installations along the western border.
According to Wing Commander Singh, there were several high-speed missile attacks launched after 1:40 a.m., targeting Indian air bases in Punjab in what she described as "a deplorable and cowardly act." Although the Indian Air Force stations at Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj sustained limited damage to equipment and personnel, Indian forces responded swiftly and effectively.
Colonel Qureshi confirmed that Pakistan deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure, including a healthcare centre and school premises at the air bases in Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur, further demonstrating a reckless disregard for civilian safety.
The Indian Army has responded with proportionate force, resulting in significant damage to the Pakistan Army positions. There have been multiple airspace violations, drone incursions, and heavy shelling reported in Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, and Akhnoor, with civilian casualties also reported.
India also strongly refuted Pakistan’s claims regarding the destruction of Indian military installations. Wing Commander Singh and Colonel Qureshi dismissed the allegations as part of a "malicious misinformation campaign," showing visuals of intact Air Force stations in Sirsa and Suratgarh to disprove the accusations.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri reiterated India’s commitment to de-escalation, contingent upon reciprocal action from Pakistan. He condemned Pakistan’s continuing attacks on civilian areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, asserting that such actions are aimed at spreading fear and chaos.
The Indian armed forces remain on high alert and are fully prepared to respond to any further provocations, officials affirmed during the briefing.
