Mumbai: Actress-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar has been appointed as the Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu. Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said she was deeply honoured by the trust placed in her.
Sharing the news through her Instagram handle along with a photograph with the Prime Minister, Khushbu wrote, “I am immensely indebted to our Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji and our TN State President @nainar_nagenthran avl for trusting me and giving me the huge responsibility as the Vice President, State of Tamil Nadu.”
Khushbu also extended her thanks to key party leaders, stating, “I will fail if I do not thank @blsanthoshofficial ji, @menonbjp ji and @reddysudhakar21 gaaru for being my constant support system.” Reaffirming her dedication to the party, she added, “I promise to give my best and work harder as a BJP karyakarta.”
She also congratulated fellow BJP members from Tamil Nadu who have been appointed to new roles, saying, “My heartiest congratulations to all my colleagues and fellow party workers who have been given the responsibilities to build the party and take the good deeds of the PM to the people of Tamil Nadu.”
The appointments were announced on Wednesday by BJP Tamil Nadu President Nainar Nagenthran, who unveiled the names of the new state-level office-bearers.
Alongside Khushbu Sundar, BJP has named 14 vice-presidents for Tamil Nadu, including Sasikala Pushpa, M. Chakravarthy, V.P. Duraisamy, Karu Nagarajan, P. Kanagasabapathi, and R.C. Paul Kanagaraj.
SG Suryah has been appointed as the President of the BJP Tamil Nadu Youth Wing. Kesava Vinayakan will serve as the General Secretary (Organisation).
Other appointments include Pon V. Balaganapathy, Raama Sreenivasan, A.P. Muruganandam, M. Muruganandam, and P. Karthiyayini as State General Secretaries. Karate Thiagarajan, Amar Prasad Reddy, Vinod P. Selvam, and A. Ashvathaman have been named State Secretaries.
In addition, S.R. Sekar has been appointed as the State Treasurer, while M. Sivasubramaniam will serve as Deputy Treasurer.
