Maharashtra minister opened portal offers jobs for Hindus only!

Mumbai: A job portal, recently launched by the BJP minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, offers jobs only for Hindus, though the minister says that the platform acts as a bridge between employers and employees, a report by The Quint states.

The job portal’s title itself is ‘Call Hindu’. The portal is still under construction.

The minister also stated that there is nothing wrong if some decided to do “some constructive work for the Hindu Community”, though he claimed that if some other community comes forward with similar initiatives, his government will support them as well.

The prototype portal/app was founded by Visha Durufe, a prominent member of the BJP. Before joining the BJP in 2018, he was a worker of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). In BJP, he served as a state executive member of the BJP Yuva Morcha and is now working with the Hindu Jagran Manch, which is closely related to RSS and has backed Durufe in launching the job portal.

The app’s illustrations proclaim phrases like “Organised Hindu! Empowered Hindu” and “Call Hindu. Talk Hindu First,” etc.

According to The Quint, Durufe said about the app that it is not like he is thinking negatively about other communities, but “Hindu Samaj should be on top”.

“Our Hindu brothers should call Hindus for services or jobs. Only if they can’t come for the job should they call others,” Quint quoted Durufe.

Further, the report says that the portal is not just about jobs since its website describes itself as a "religious-socio-digital platform dedicated to the eternal light of Sanatan Dharma and the glorious tradition of Hindu culture."

The portal is apparently providing services like a marketplace exclusively for Hindus, a travel booking service exclusively for Hindu pilgrimage and cultural sites, a listing of space for skilled Hindu professionals and workers, a marketplace for Hindu-owned businesses, and a platform for dharma protection initiatives. Further, it also provides a portal to digitally connect with Hindu temples and initiatives to promote “community-conscious Hindu marriages, the report states.

The Quint says that “Call Hindu” is one among many similar portals or sites exclusively for Hindus. It says it’s a part of a growing Hindu-only ecosystem.
