'Does not want money wasted': Diagnosed with cancer, UP realtor kills wife, self

Ghaziabad: A 46-year-old man in Delhi shot his wife dead before killing himself when he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Kuldip Tyagi, real estate dealer in Ghaziabad, said in the suicide note that he was uncertain about recovery and did not want to waste money on treatment, NDTV reported.

Tyagi took his wife Anshu Tyagi’s life claiming in the note that they had vowed to be together.

Kuldip used a licensed revolver to kill his wife before turning it on himself at their house in Radha Kunj society of Raj Nagar Extension at 11 am on Wednesday.

On hearing the gunshots, their two sons rushed to the parents’ room and found Kuldeep's body on the floor and Anshu's was on the bed, according to police.

They were immediately transported to the hospital where doctors declared them dead.

A suicide note read: ‘I am suffering from cancer, and my family is unaware of it. I don't want money to be wasted on my treatment because survival is uncertain. I am taking my wife along because we vowed to stay together forever. This is my decision. No one, especially my children, is to blame.’

Senior police officer Poonam Mishra reportedly said that Kuldeep Tyagi shot his wife before killing himself with his licensed revolver.

‘In a suicide note, Kuldip Tyagi said he was suffering from cancer and his family members didn't know about it. He did not want money to be spent on his treatment, so he decided to kill his wife and himself. We are investigating this matter, the officer added.

The couple is survived by two sons and Kuldip's father, who is a retired cop.
