New Delhi: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has granted 104 visas to Indian Hindu pilgrims to partake in the 315th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Shiv Avtari Satguru Sant Shadaram Sahib at Shadani Darbar Hayat Pitafi in Sindh, Pakistan.
This significant event is scheduled to span from December 12 to 23.
Expressing its issuance of visas, the Pakistan High Commission in India posted on social media platform X, stating, "@PakinIndia has issued 104 visas to Indian Hindu pilgrims for their visit to Pakistan to participate in the 315th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Shiv Avtari Satguru Sant Shadaram Sahib, at Shadani Darbar Hayat Pitafi, Sindh from 12-23 December 2023."
Aizaz Khan, Charge'd'Affaires at the High Commission for Pakistan, conveyed his well-wishes to the pilgrims, hoping for their safety and a fruitful journey.
"Expressing his views on the occasion, Charge d' Affairs, Mr. Aizaz Khan, extended his heartfelt felicitations to the pilgrims and wished them a safe journey," the post added.
These visas were issued under the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, enabling Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India to visit Pakistan for various religious festivities annually. This initiative aligns with the Pakistani government's endeavor to facilitate pilgrimages to religious sites and foster interfaith harmony, the statement highlighted.
Highlighting the continuity of this practice, last year, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi provided visas to 100 Indian Hindu pilgrims to partake in the birthday celebrations of Shiv Avtari Satguru Sant Shadaram Sahib in Pakistan.
