Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday strongly criticized Israel's recent military actions against Iran, describing them as dangerously aggressive and likely to escalate into a broader regional conflict.
In a statement shared on social media, Stalin reportedly condemned the strikes as reckless and warned that such actions could trigger a wider war.
He also raised serious concerns about Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, which he characterized as a humanitarian crisis.
Referring to the continued airstrikes and civilian suffering, Stalin is said to have urged the international community to intervene by advocating for restraint, justice, and meaningful diplomacy.
The comments came in the wake of Israel’s June 13 attack on Iran, which reportedly resulted in the deaths of high-ranking military officials and 9 scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear program.
Civilian casualties were also reported, including the deaths of around 60 people, among them 20 children, after a residential building in Tehran was targeted. In response, Iran launched retaliatory strikes that reportedly killed at least eight people in Israel, including a child, TNIE reported.
At the same time, the genocide in Gaza continues to intensify, with reports indicating that more than 55,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed. Allegations have also emerged that Israel has targeted medical personnel, humanitarian workers, and journalists.
Furthermore, the country has been accused of weaponizing starvation by blocking aid from reaching the densely populated and devastated territory.
