Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police arrested two women for allegedly honey trapping a BJP leader in the Tumakuru district, The Indian Express reported citing police.
Though women aged 23 and 27 have been arrested, their male accomplices are at large, according to Ashok K V, Superintendent of Police, Tumakuru.
BJP leader Annappa Swamy reportedly claimed that a women identifying herself as a beautician befriended him on Facebook.
The woman went on to chat with him on the pretext of having to sell a piece of land.
However, both the leader and the woman ended up having intimate conversations.
At some point the woman threatened to reveal the screenshots of their chats if he did not meet her, Swamy alleged.
Subsequently they met at a lodge where they engaged in ‘consensual sex’.
However, the accomplices of the woman filmed them and demanded Rs 20 lakh from Swamy.
The BJP leader alleged that he was allowed to go only after he paid them Rs 70,000 and agreeing to pay the remainder later.
