Yati Narsinghanand calls for armed Hindu groups similar to ISIS, sparks outrage

A recent video featuring Yati Narsinghanand, a controversial Hindutva leader known for his inflammatory remarks, has triggered widespread condemnation.

In the footage, recorded at his Dasna temple in Uttar Pradesh, he urges Hindus to form armed groups similar to ISIS in response to alleged threats from Muslims.

Narsinghanand, notorious for his hate speeches, claims that Hindus are being targeted and must take up arms to protect their religion, families, and existence. He explicitly encourages the formation of militant groups, saying: "Form your own organisations if needed, just like Muslims do, like ISIS."

He further alleged that Hindus were attacked in Moradabad and insists that self-defense is necessary. He also expressed his intention to seek support from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to provide weapons to Hindus.

The video has sparked widespread criticism, with many demanding immediate legal action against him. Senior journalist Dr. Mukesh Kumar took to social media to voice his concerns, warning that such rhetoric could lead to civil war.

Calling Narsinghanand a "terrorist", Kumar stated: "This man is openly inciting violence and pushing the country towards a civil war. He should be immediately booked for treason and arrested."

He also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of shielding individuals like Narsinghanand, allowing them to spread hate without consequences.

Many social media users and political leaders have expressed frustration over the lack of police action. Shaukat Ali, state president of AIMIM, questioned law enforcement’s silence: "This man frequently incites violence, calls for a terrorist organization like ISIS, yet no action is taken. Is the police afraid to act, or does he enjoy impunity because he belongs to the majority community?"
