YouTuber Bayya Sunny Yadav arrested by NIA for motorcycle trip to Pakistan

Bayya Sunny Yadav, a YouTuber from Suryapet in Telangana, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday, May 29, at Chennai airport for traveling to Pakistan.

His recent cross-border trip, which he filmed and shared on his YouTube channel, has drawn scrutiny amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.

Two months ago, Yadav undertook a motorcycle journey to Pakistan, raising national security concerns. His arrest is part of the NIA’s broader investigation into potential espionage activities following Operation Sindoor.

Officials are probing whether Yadav engaged in any suspicious conduct or shared sensitive information during his time in Pakistan. His electronic devices have been confiscated for forensic examination to determine the purpose and scope of his travel.

This isn’t Yadav’s first run-in with authorities. He had previously been implicated in promoting illegal betting platforms on his YouTube channel. Multiple FIRs have been lodged against him in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including a case filed on March 5, 2025, at the Nuthankal Police Station in Suryapet.

Following his international trip, a lookout circular had been issued, and efforts were underway to locate him while he was still abroad. His return to India prompted swift action by law enforcement.

The NIA continues to investigate the case to ascertain whether any violations of national security may have occurred during Yadav’s journey.
