Gaza City: While the world is focused on the Iran-Israel war, the Israeli army has continued its human rights abuses in the Gaza Strip. Over the course of three days, 115 people were killed in a mass shooting by the Israeli army against innocent people queuing in front of food camps in Gaza, Rafah, and Khan Yunis.
The army, which killed 16 people on Thursday alone, killed 29 people on Wednesday. The day before that, 70 people were killed. The Israeli army opened fire on people waiting for food in front of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) food distribution centres in Gaza and Khan Younis. The injured and hospitalized said that they shot innocent people using drones, machine guns, and tanks. On Monday alone, the Israeli army shot and killed 38 people while trying to buy food.
The GHF is an Israeli-American-backed organization. It was set up by Israel in May to replace the UN-led relief effort. The Israeli military continues to attack Palestinians in Gaza, carrying out widespread raids in the West Bank. Israel is following a pattern of mass killings of Palestinians, who are suffering due to the blockade, in the pretext of feeding them. As the world focuses on the Iran-Israel war, violence against Palestinians in the occupied territories has increased.
Israel has been using drones and tanks to attack civilians, causing many deaths and injuries, Gaza’s Civil Defense Agency said. The number of killings in Gaza has increased sharply since the Iranian offensive. The Israeli army has blocked entrances to Palestinian villages and towns and increased the number of military checkpoints.
