Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held a phone call with Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday evening to express Kuwait’s strong condemnation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) missile attack on Qatar. The strike targeted the Al-Udeid air base, which hosts U.S. and coalition forces.
Labeling the strike a “clear breach” of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law, the Kuwaiti leader denounced the aggression as a violation of the UN Charter. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with Qatar’s leadership, government and people, expressing unequivocal support for any measures taken by Doha to protect its sovereignty and national security.
“Kuwait stands side by side with Qatar’s leadership, government and people,” the Amir said.
He stated that Kuwait fully backs all actions Qatar may take to defend its sovereignty, security and stability. He also offered Kuwait’s full resources in support, emphasizing that Qatar’s stability is intrinsically tied to Kuwait’s own.
In response, the Qatari Amir expressed sincere gratitude for the gesture of solidarity and wished continued prosperity and health to the Kuwaiti leadership and its people.
