Kuwait raises KD 6.5M in Gaza emergency relief drive

Kuwait has concluded a nationwide emergency relief campaign for Gaza, raising KD 6,546,078 (around USD 21.4 million) in just three days. The Ministry of Social Affairs, which led the initiative in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the total on Wednesday. The campaign drew widespread support from public institutions, charities and individual donors.

Key contributions included KD 1.5 million from Insan Charity Society and KD 500,000 from the Secretariat General of Awqaf. The online platform "Kuwait Beside You", operated by the ministry, collected KD 2,515,795, while Direct Aid Society added KD 1,318,854. Other participating organizations included the Patient Helping Fund Society with KD 476,012 and the Revival of Islamic Heritage Society with KD 235,443.

Spokesperson Youssef Saif said the campaign reflects Kuwait’s humanitarian stance in supporting the Palestinian people. The collected funds will be used to provide essential food supplies for families in Gaza. In-kind food donations were also accepted under official guidelines, with all items sourced through the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company as mandated by Cabinet resolution.

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society is overseeing aid delivery to designated relief agencies in Egypt, Jordan and Palestine, ensuring that assistance reaches those most in need.
