Omani authorities have apprehended 29 individuals attempting to enter the country illegally by sea, the Royal Oman Police announced on Tuesday.
The arrests were carried out by the Coast Guard under the North Al Batinah Police Command. According to the police, the group consisted of 27 Pakistani nationals, one Iranian and one Bangladeshi. They were intercepted while attempting to enter Omani waters via boat from Iran.
Officials confirmed that legal procedures are currently underway against all detainees. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to monitoring Oman's maritime borders and preventing unauthorised entry.
