Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday, marking the beginning of his first official visit to India. The two-day visit, scheduled to conclude on April 9, comes at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and aims to deepen strategic cooperation between the two nations.

Sheikh Hamdan’s visit commenced with a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Modi, where both leaders engaged in discussions to further strengthen the UAE-India partnership. Taking to social media following the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan described the relationship as one “built on trust, shaped by history, and driven by our shared vision for a future of opportunity, innovation and sustainable prosperity.”

The Dubai Crown Prince also met with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar earlier in the day and is expected to meet with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh later this evening. These talks are focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, defence and energy.

Upon his arrival at New Delhi airport, Sheikh Hamdan received a warm welcome from Suresh Gopi, India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism, underscoring the significance of the visit in the context of growing diplomatic and economic engagement between the two countries.

On April 9, Sheikh Hamdan will travel to Mumbai, where he is scheduled to participate in a high-profile business roundtable with key industry leaders from both the UAE and India. The session is expected to spotlight investment opportunities and collaborative ventures in emerging sectors such as technology, infrastructure, renewable energy and tourism.

The Crown Prince’s visit marks another milestone in the robust UAE-India relationship, which has seen significant progress in recent years. Both nations continue to explore new avenues of cooperation, building on shared economic goals and a long-standing partnership rooted in cultural and historical ties.
