Is 'Islamic terrorism' a global challenge?

Tulsi Gabbard, the US Director of National Intelligence, who met Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday, opined that Islamic terrorism is a threat to both India and the United States. Calling it a global challenge, Tulsi added that 'Islamic terrorism', alongside affecting the United States, India and the Middle East, is currently affecting Middle East countries including Syria and Israel. The comments made by the US intelligence chief in New Delhi are apparently a reflection of the ultimate policies that far-right Donald Trump is implementing and will implement at the national and international levels. The United States, which has been providing the Zionist state with money and weapons for it to carry out the naked violation of human rights by massacring more than 50,000 Gazans day and night, the vast majority of whom were innocent women and children, is warning India and the world against the phenomenon called Islamic terrorism. Upon the ending of 42-day ceasefire,Trump's America is both helping and encouraging the Zionist state to resume, dismissing the appeal of the world, firestorm on Palestinians who are condemned to live on top of millions of tons of garbage, under the sky without clean water, food, electricity or shelter. The US intelligence chief is trying to convince the Modi government that it is not this brutality, repeatedly condemned by UN, but the extremely weak resistance against it by victims and those helping them is the threat to the world. Having presented to the world the lie that weapons of mass destruction were being stockpiled, the Yankees deployed NATO forces hauling in then British PM Tony Blaire thus burning Iraq to cinders alongside hanging President Saddam Hussein. Destroying a country itself was not terrorism but merely an attempt to restore peace!

Years of experience showed that there was no power in the world to stop Israel’s arrogance of periodically bombing and destroying the country’s infrastructure including homes, hospitals, roads and schools alongside massacring civilians just as the UN resolutions turned out to be merely a distraction. When the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas retaliated on October 7, 2023 with whatever weapons they could gather, it became an unforgivable sin and Islamic terrorism. The real crisis is the Palestinian people’s repeated offer to lay down their arms and sign a peace agreement if they are allowed to live in their country with peace and dignity is not acceptable to Israel and the US. The peace restoration offer of the Trump-Netanyahu team is to evacuate the Palestinian people from the West Bank and Gaza and settle them settle somewhere in African countries or the Arab countries can help them if they want; anything else is support for Islamic terrorism!

The biggest challenge facing secular democracy is that there are supporters to these inhuman and unjust extreme right-wing forces in Mahatma Gandhi's India too. It is hardly surprising when the proponents and practitioners of the ideology that sees Muslims, Christians and Communists as enemies of the state are ruling the country. Most important, the explanations Narendra Modi has given on the Gujarat riots of February 2002 to US-based podcaster and AI researcher Lex Fridman in a lengthy interview for YouTube podcast make it clear where he still stands. Describing the loss of lives after a train carriage was set on fire in Godhra something he could not tolerate as the Chief Minister of the state, Modi, however, did not express any regret over the fact that thousands of innocent people from minority communities were burnt to death in the revengeful fire in the same riots. He highlighted the fact that he, an innocent person, was acquitted by the court. At the same time, he was silent about the atrocities uncovered by the judicial commissions, people's tribunals and the media that investigated the incident, or about the terrorists responsible for the atrocities escaping the clutches of the law. Narendra Modi was not hurt by the cowardly hearts of those who released and welcomed the culprits whom the court sentenced to life imprisonment in the Bilkis Bano case. After all, 'Islamic terrorism' is the only challenge facing the country and the world! There are terrorists among Muslims too. No matter who carries it out, terrorism is terrorism. The OIC, the grouping of Muslim countries, unequivocally condemned it at the World Muslim Scholars Conference that met in Mecca in the wake of the September 11, 2001, Trade Center attack. No Islamic organization or group on earth justifies or whitewashes terrorism. The Pakistani terrorist groups causing headache to India must definitely be eliminated. Peace and brotherhood should be the goal, policy and stance of human society. That to continue massacre by attaching terrorism to this ideology, which gives the aforesaid message to the world since its origin, should not be supported but resisted, no matter whoever supports it.
