LinkedIn has introduced a new artificial intelligence-powered job search tool that simplifies how users discover relevant job opportunities.
Initially launched in the US, the feature is now being made available globally—including in India—and will be exclusive to LinkedIn Premium subscribers.
The AI tool allows professionals to search for jobs using natural language, moving beyond the traditional keyword-based approach. Instead of typing in specific job titles or using complex filters, users can now write queries in everyday language. For example, someone might search for “full-stack software developer jobs in Bengaluru that are hybrid or remote work,” and the AI will generate results tailored to those exact criteria.
In a press release, LinkedIn explained the motivation behind the new feature, citing a recent survey where “60 percent of professionals in Bengaluru struggle to find job titles and industries, even when they're open to a new opportunity.” The professional networking platform also noted that among the top indicators of career advancement for users is finding a role that aligns with both their skills and aspirations.
To solve this common pain point, LinkedIn’s AI tool aims to streamline the job search experience by interpreting complex queries and returning the most relevant listings. The company noted, “AI-powered job search is designed to make job discovery more relevant, helping them make career moves with greater confidence.”
By removing the reliance on specific keywords and eliminating the need for extensive filtering, the feature promises to save time and improve the accuracy of job matches.
Currently, access to this new functionality is limited to Premium subscribers, who pay Rs. 499 per month. The Premium plan includes a suite of AI-based features, such as interview preparation tools and career planning assistance, in addition to the new AI job search tool.
