New Delhi: An Air India flight heading to Delhi from Thailand made emergency landing due to bomb threat on Friday, India Today reported.
The flight AI 379 with 156 passengers on board landed on the Thai island shortly after taking off from Thailand's Phuket and passengers were deboarded.
Alongside security screening, the airport authorities activated the Airport Contingency Plan (ACP).
No explosives have been found in the preliminary investigation.
It is reported citing Thai officials that the passenger who reported the threat was being questioned.
The Indian Embassy in Bangkok is reportedly in touch with Thai authorities.
The bomb threat follows Thursday’s horrific flight crash in Ahmedabad killing 241 on board alongside casualties on the ground.
Indian airlines received nearly 1,000 hoax bomb threats in the first 10 months of 2024, almost 10 times the threats in the previous year.
