Palestine group paints pro-Palestine graffiti on Trump’s Scottish golf resort

London: A protest group has claimed responsibility for pro-Palestinian graffiti on US President Donald Trump's Turnberry golf resort in Scotland.

Local media on Saturday revealed photographs of red paint smeared across the course's walls with the slogans "Free Gaza" and "Free Palestine," as well as insults to Trump, Reuters reported.

"Gaza is not for sale" was also painted on one of the course's dug-up greens and holes, Reuters reported.

Palestine Action claims it caused the damage, writing on the social media network X: “Whilst Trump attempts to treat Gaza as his property, he should know his own property is within reach.”

Last month, Trump angered the Arab world by unexpectedly announcing that the US would take over Gaza, resettle its over 2 million Palestinian residents, and transform it into the "Riviera of the Middle East."

Scotland Police stated that it was investigating.

“Around 4.40 am on Saturday, 8 March, 2025, we received a report of damage to the golf course and a premises on Maidens Road, Turnberry,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said, adding that enquiries were ongoing.

In another incident on Saturday, a man carrying a Palestinian flag scaled the Big Ben tower at the Palace of Westminster in London.
