Washington DC: US President Donald Trump said he will not deport Prince Harry from the US amid reports of legal challenges against the British prince’s US visa, according to the New York Post.
President Trump told the outlet that he would leave the Duke of Sussex alone adding that ‘He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible’.
It is reported that the challenge against Harry’s visa comes particularly from the Heritage Foundation, which pointed to Harry’s failure to disclose illegal drug use in his visa application process.
While potentially cutting Prince Harry to the quick, Trump praised his estranged older brother Prince William calling him a ‘great young man’.
Trump has strained relationship with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle; they have been vocal critics of Trump with Meghan Markle previously calling Trump ‘divisive’ and ‘misogynistic’.
Trump remarked previously that Harry is ‘whipped’ by Meghan, adding that ‘I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose.’
The Heritage Foundation questioned Harry's honesty in US visa application in its lawsuit against the Department of Homeland pointing to his admission about past drug use such as cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics in his autobiography ‘Spare’.
Meanwhile, Nile Gardiner of the Heritage Foundation said that those who apply for US visa have to be truthful in their application adding that ‘it is not clear that is the case with Prince Harry.’
According to the conservative think tank, the prince probably got favourable treatment from Biden administration as he relocated to California along with Meghan in 2020.
