New Delhi: E-commerce giant Flipkart on Monday announced the creation of more than 2.2 lakh seasonal jobs across 28 states as part of its preparations for the upcoming festive season, including its annual ‘Big Billion Days’ sales event.

The company said employment opportunities are being generated across supply chain, logistics, and last-mile delivery functions, with a strong focus on Tier 2 and 3 cities. Roles include pickers, packers, sorters, and delivery executives, with 15 per cent of new hires entering the workforce for the first time.

Flipkart highlighted a significant rise in the hiring of women, persons with disabilities (PwDs) and LGBTQIA+ associates compared with last year. “This year, we have strengthened our capabilities ahead of the festive season, focusing on building an inclusive workforce, expanding our supply chain people network, and creating more inclusive job opportunities in the ecosystem, backed by technology and sustainable practices,” said Seema Nair, CHRO at Flipkart.

The company said its logistics arm will expand with 650 additional festive-only delivery hubs in cities such as Siliguri, Kundli and Jakhar, as well as smaller towns, further boosting job creation.

Through its Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), Flipkart has already trained thousands of candidates and plans to upskill 10,000 more by the end of 2025. Over 6,000 college students have also been trained in supply chain operations through digital and classroom sessions.

The company said the initiative reflects its focus on festive readiness, community development, and long-term value creation for partners and employees across India.
