Tesla to launch Delhi showroom on August 11 at Aerocity, expands presence in India
text_fieldsTesla is set to open its second showroom in India on August 11, this time in Delhi’s upscale Worldmark complex in Aerocity, located near the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
This follows the EV giant's first showroom in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), which launched on July 15.
The new Delhi outlet marks another step in Tesla’s ongoing expansion into the Indian market. The company recently introduced its first Supercharger station in Mumbai, offering improved support infrastructure for existing and future Tesla owners.
Tesla’s Model Y was recently launched in India alongside the debut of its official Indian website. Initially, vehicle registrations were limited to Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram. However, the platform has since been updated, and buyers can now register their Tesla vehicles across all Indian states and union territories.
The company notes that on-road prices may vary depending on location and local regulations. Tesla has also confirmed that customers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram will be prioritised for deliveries. Upon completion of the purchase, cars will be delivered directly to customers via flat-bed trucks.
While Tesla's self-driving capability is available for Rs 6 lakh, this feature will be rolled out in India at a later stage.
Tesla has launched two versions of the Model Y in India — the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Long-Range RWD. The RWD variant is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh, with an on-road cost of Rs 61.07 lakh, while the Long-Range version is priced at Rs 67.89 lakh, with on-road pricing reaching Rs 69.15 lakh.
The RWD version comes with a single electric motor producing around 295 hp and is available with either a 60 kWh or 75 kWh battery pack. The 60 kWh version delivers a WLTP range of 500 km, while the long-range variant can achieve up to 622 km on a single charge.
