Marvel Studios' much-anticipated superhero reboot The Fantastic Four: First Steps has struggled to impress Indian audiences, earning a modest Rs 24.45 crore in its first week.

Despite high expectations and a star-studded cast led by Pedro Pascal, the film has officially been declared a flop at the Indian box office.

Directed by Matt Shakman, the film also features Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn in pivotal roles.

Released under the Marvel Cinematic Universe banner as its 37th installment, the movie opened to average numbers and failed to gain traction during the weekdays.

The film's India box office journey began with Rs 4.9 crore on its opening Friday, followed by Rs 6.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.75 crore on Sunday.

However, the momentum significantly dropped in the following days - Monday brought in Rs 1.8 crore, Tuesday Rs 1.95 crore, Wednesday Rs 1.3 crore, and Thursday added another Rs 1.25 crore - bringing the total to Rs 24.45 crore.

Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, The Fantastic Four is currently facing stiff competition at the Indian box office from titles like Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narsimha, with Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 also gearing up for release.

The tepid response in India is a setback for Marvel Studios, especially considering the legacy and fanbase of the Fantastic Four franchise.
