Universal Studios to open first-ever indoor theme park in India by 2027
text_fieldsIndia is set to welcome its very first Universal Studios theme park by mid-2027.
The iconic entertainment brand is planning a massive indoor facility near Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. This marks a significant step in bringing world-class cinematic experiences to Indian audiences without the need for international travel.
The upcoming park will be a part of a larger development spearheaded by Bharti Realty, which is constructing a 3 million square foot mega mall in Aerocity. This mall is positioned to become the largest in India, forming the centerpiece of a 17 million-square-foot urban hub.
Unlike traditional outdoor amusement parks, Universal Studios India will be an indoor park, offering a climate-controlled, all-weather entertainment experience. Spanning approximately 300,000 square feet, the venue will feature thrilling rides, immersive zones, and interactive attractions inspired by globally beloved movie franchises such as Jurassic World, Minions, Fast & Furious, and Harry Potter.
Much like its counterparts in Hollywood, Osaka, Singapore, and Beijing, the Indian park is expected to offer its own unique take on Universal’s storytelling magic — blending cutting-edge technology with engaging narratives and adrenaline-filled adventures.
The park’s location in Aerocity, Gurugram, offers excellent connectivity via the Delhi Metro, major highways, and its close proximity to the Delhi Airport, making it a convenient destination for domestic and international tourists alike.
Industry experts believe this move will significantly boost tourism and entertainment infrastructure in the region, potentially transforming Aerocity into a prime family-friendly tourist hub.
