Bengaluru: A scam in the name of US President Donald Trump has come to light in Karnataka after the victims informed the police. Scammers amassed an amount to the tune of one crore, it is learned. The scam took place in Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Mangaluru, and Haveri, and it was carried out using an app with a name similar to Donald Trump. Certain marketing companies were behind the scam, and they were using an AI-generated video to attract investors and make them feel that it was safe to invest.

Many people believed this video and invested in various marketing companies and lost money. Haveri Cybercrime Economics and Narcotics Inspector Shivakumar R Ganachari said that the fraudsters took money from the investors by promising huge returns. He added that more than 15 people have been scammed.
