Imphal/Kohima : By-elections were held in four Assembly seats in Manipur on November 7 and two Assembly seats in Nagaland on November 3.
Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Ginsuanhau was elected unopposed from Singhat seat in Churachandpur district of Manipur on October 22 after Independent nominee Chinlunthang withdrew his candidature.
In Nagaland by-elections were necessitated in Southern Angami-I and Pungro-Khipre seats after the death of sitting legislators Vikho-o Yhoshu and T Torechu respectively
The counting of votes in Manipur and Nagaland, which started amid tight security arrangements on Tuesday morning and strict adherence to the Covid-19 guidelines, is in progress.

BJP wins 2 seats, Independent 1 in Manipur; NDPP 1 in Nagaland
Imphal/Kohima: Ruling BJP's candidates on Tuesday won two Assembly seats while party-supported Independent candidate won the third one in Manipur, with BJP leading in the fourth seat for which official result was yet to be out.
BJP's ally and ruling NDPP bagged one Assembly seat in Nagaland, where an Independent candidate was leading in the second seat which also went to bypolls, officials said on Tuesday.

Manipur bypolls: BJP wins one seat, leads in two
Imphal:BJP candidate Oinam Lukhoi Singh won the by-election to the Wangoi seat in Manipur, while saffron party candidates were leading from two other constituencies and an Independent from one
Singh won the Wangoi seat defeating his nearest rival Khuraijam Loken Singh of the National People's Party by 257 votes, as per the ECI website.

Nagaland Bypolls: NDDP leading in Southern Angami I, Independent ahead in Pungro Kiphire
Yhokha leading by 624 votes over his nearest Independent rival Seyievilie Peter Zashumo in the Southern Angami I seat, as per ECI website.
In the Pungro Kiphire constituency, T Yangseo Sangtam ahead of his nearest Independent rival S Kiusumew Yimchunger by 1,527 votes, ECI data said.
