New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to mislead the Election Commission by submitting fraudulent voter registration applications in large numbers from the residential addresses of its leaders.

In a press conference, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that numerous voter registration applications had been filed from small shops and basements, and that the BJP had used residential addresses of its leaders to submit multiple new applications. Singh named several BJP leaders, including union ministers, accusing them of involvement in the scheme.

"This is the reality of the biggest political party in India. This is how Prime Minister Modi's party intends to win elections," Singh said, highlighting the alleged misconduct.

Singh further accused the BJP and its leaders of attempting to deceive the Election Commission, calling it an "election scam" orchestrated by Union ministers and MPs. He claimed that this act undermines the integrity of the Election Commission.

Delhi is set to vote on February 5, with the results to be declared on February 8.
