British High Commissioner uses Bollywood films to learn Hindi

New Delhi: Alex Ellis, the British High Commissioner to India, is taking time to learn the culture, cuisine, and languages of India during his tenure.
He took to Twitter to announce that he is watching the Bollywood film Chupke Chupke this week to learn Hindi. "Part 2 of my Hindi film lessons: Chupke Chupke this weekend. Jokes are hard in a new language. I'm watching out for Amitabh Bacchan's lessons on botany and Dharmendra's take on English. What else?"
A few weeks ago, he asked his followers to give him suggestions on Bollywood movies so that he can watch them and improve his Hindi. Some of the recommendations he got were Sholey, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Lagaan.
Eliis is known for interacting with Indian culture at any opportunity he gets. He enjoys local dishes and street food delicacies.
