Bengaluru: An important meeting, chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has been scheduled for Wednesday in Delhi to discuss the Cauvery water-sharing row.

The meeting will also discuss projects in Karnataka which are waiting for the Union government's approval, and drought relief matters for the southern state.

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will also attend the crucial meeting, along with Union ministers, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs hailing from the state.

T.B. Jayachandra, Special Representative of the Karnataka government in Delhi, has been engaging in preliminary meetings which are being held at the Karnataka Bhavan.

The meeting has been convened as the Prime Minister and all the union Ministers will be present in the national capital given the ongoing special session of the Parliament.

Meanwhile, former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior JD-U leader H.D. Kumaraswamy said on Tuesday that the people of the state are dejected with Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery water dispute.

“The dam is located in our state, we have built it. We are made to tolerate the domination of Tamil Nadu for 200 years in the Cauvery dispute. Is this federalism?”

“All the political parties in the state must unite undermining differences. In Tamil Nadu, all the political parties unite. Likewise, all the parties should join hands in Karnataka as well. Yet, we are fighting with each other for politics,” he said.
