Dehradun: Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued another bout of criticism over Congress, accusing the party of spreading rumours about Covid-19 Vaccines.

On Saturday, addressing an audience at Uttarakhand's Rudrapur during the state's last day of campaigning, Modi said that Congress spread the rumours since it had nothing else in hand to hold against the Union government, PTI reported.

Modi also alleged that Congress had abused India's first Chief of Defence Staff, late Gen Bipin Rawat. He urged the Uttarakhand people to give the party an apt reply for the Congress' insult through their votes.

Further, Modi claimed that the BJP government carried out all the development works in the state as well as serving those affected by the pandemic, the worst health crisis in 100 years. According to him, the people had realised that the assistance the BJP government provided them, such as the free rations under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, would not have reached the needy if it was some other parties.

BJP government did not let a single poor person go to sleep on an empty stomach during Covid-19, he claimed.

BJP does everything to ensure development in Uttarakhand, he claimed, listing the big road, rail, air and ropeway connectivity in construction in the state.

On February 8, Narendra Modi had come down on Congress and "the Gandhis" in the Parliament. He said that the Congress' problem was it never thought beyond its 'dynasty' and talent dies first during dynastic politics. He briefed how different the country would have become if there were no Congress. He, however, praised Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for not bringing his son into politics.
