Defence Chief General Bipin Rawat dies in chopper crash in Tamil Nadu. In a series of Tweets, the Indian Air Force has confirmed the news saying that "Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board have died in the unfortunate accident"

Gen Bipin Rawat was on a visit to Defence Services Staff College, Wellington (Nilgiri Hills) to address the faculty and student officers of the Staff Course on Wednesday.

While the only one survivor of the chopper crash, Gp Capt Varun Singh SC, Directing Staff at DSSC is currently under treatment at Military Hospital, Wellington with injuries, informed IAF in another tweet.
