Draupadi Murmu to address the nation on Independence Day eve

New Delhi: On August 14, the eve of India's 76th Independence Day, President Draupadi Murmu will address the nation, IANS reported.

The scheduled address will be her first by her after taking the office of the President. It will be broadcast across the nation on all the networks of All India Radio (AIR) and telecast over all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi and later English. The time scheduled for the event is 7 pm.

The broadcast of the address in Hindi and English on Doordarshan will be followed by a broadcast in regional languages by regional channels of Doordarshan.

After the Hindi and English broadcast in Doordarshan, addresses in regional languages by regional Doordarshan channels will also follow. c The AIR will broadcast regional language versions at 9.30 pm on its respective regional networks.

India is celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 years of Independence.
