Father beats child to death for stealing Rs 50 from home in Maharashtra

Sandeep Bablu Omprakash Prajapati (41), a Maharashtra man from Kalwa in Thane district, allegedly beat his 10-year-old son to death on Thursday after accusing the child of stealing Rs 50 from home. The man was arrested on Friday after Waghoba Nagar slum colony residents alerted the police. The boy was found lying motionless on the floor, an official informed.

"A police team rushed the child to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His sister, who was also in the room, told us the child was hit by the father. We also found he hit his son for allegedly stealing ₹ 50 from home," he said.

Prajapati has been charged with murder. Inquiries are also being made into the victim's mother who was not at home when the incident occurred.
