United Nations: India has firmly rejected Pakistan’s "unwarranted aspersions" and attempts to divert attention from internal human rights abuses and cross-border terrorism, citing the enduring memory of the Pahalgam attacks.

Responding at the UN Security Council’s open debate on ‘Effective Strategies to End and Prevent Grave Violations Against Children’, India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador P. Harish, called out Pakistan’s remarks as “politically motivated” and pointed to its record as a major violator of the CAAC (Children and Armed Conflict) agenda.

Harish said Pakistan has been misusing UN platforms to smear India while ignoring serious violations against children documented in the Secretary General’s report.

“We reject this attempt by Pakistan to deflect attention from the atrocities committed against children in their country, as highlighted in the Secretary General's report, as well as their rampant cross border terrorism,” he stated.

He added that the UN report on CAAC provides detailed evidence of grave child rights abuses in armed conflict zones within Pakistan.
