Now Muslims; next to be targeted will be Christians, Jains: Azad

Lucknow: Raising the issue of Waqf Law, Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) leader Chandrashekhar Azad warned on Sunday that it's Muslims today, and it will be Christians and Jains who might be targeted next. He urged Muslims to extend their support to his party and vote cautiously, the Times of India reported.

He asked Muslims to strengthen his party and not to get cheated again and again.

“Today, in the name of Waqf, it is the Muslims; tomorrow, it will be Christians, Jains and others. Learn to speak up. It is a long fight, and we will have to learn to fight. I’m telling you, Muslim brothers, to not get cheated again and again, and come with me,” TOI quoted Azad.

Saying that the current government has started workshops on Ramayana and Vedas in schools in the past 10 years, he wondered if religious publicity in schools is right.

He then told his party workers to strengthen the party organization in Uttar Pradesh and called them to prepare for the 2027 elections.

He said that there is no need to pick up a gun or sword to change the government but to vote. He warned that if the current government continues, the Bahujan Samaj will not be left with govt jobs in ten years, and the community “will be hit with shoes”. He asserted that his party’s dream is to make their community aware and unite it.

"The thing with the ‘bahujan samaj' is that it can work hard for eight hours but cannot stand united for two hours," TOI quoted Azad.
