Salman Khan's house firing: Accused attempts suicide in lock-up, dies at hospital

Mumbai: An accused person detained in connection with gunfire at Bollywood actor Salman Khan's home on Wednesday attempted suicide while in the Mumbai Police crime branch's lock-up and passed away in the hospital after being taken there quickly, according to an official.
Using a bedsheet, the deceased 23-year-old Anuj Thapan hanged himself inside the lock-up toilet.
He was rushed to the state-run GT Hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment, the official said.
Thapan was arrested from Punjab along with Sonu Kumar Bishnoi for allegedly supplying weapons to shooters Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, who were already arrested, according to police.
An accidental death report will be registered at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai.
