Surely he's aware Pahalgam terrorists still not brought to justice: Congress
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress on Thursday criticised his administration, emphasising that those directly responsible for the Pahalgam attack have yet to face justice.
During his visit on Friday, Modi is set to unveil several development initiatives worth over ₹46,000 crore in Katra, including the inauguration of the Chenab Bridge—the world’s highest railway arch bridge. Additionally, he will flag off Vande Bharat trains connecting Katra and Srinagar.
In a post on X, Congress general secretary in charge of communications Jairam Ramesh noted that the prime minister is visiting Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow.
"Surely he is aware that the terrorists directly responsible for the brutal terrorist attacks at Pahalgam on April 22nd have still not been brought to justice. And according to some reports that have not been denied, these very terrorists were also involved in the terror attacks in Poonch in Dec 2023 and in Gagangir and Gulmarg in Oct 2024," Ramesh said.
Last month, Jairam Ramesh referenced news reports stating that the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack had also been involved in three previous terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the government to provide clarification on the matter.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) announced that Narendra Modi will visit Katra, the base camp for pilgrims heading to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple, to unveil multiple development projects. Among them is the inauguration of the Anji Bridge—India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge designed to withstand challenging terrain. Additionally, Modi will launch the 272-km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project.
