Bengaluru: Tax officials in the city have slapped Rs 1.42 crore on a Ferrari car for not paying road tax, according to NDTV.

The super luxury red Ferrari SF90 Stradale was driven around the streets of the city without paying tax.

The 7.5 crore car had been attracting eyeballs over a past few months when Regional Transport Office officials took notice.

The officials from the Bengaluru South RTO located the car registered in Maharashtra on Thursday morning.

Upon confirming that tax had not been paid in the state, authorities seized the vehicle issuing a notice to the owner.

The owner was given time until evening today to make the payment alongside warning of consequence in case of non-compliance.

The owner swiftly cleared the entire dues and penalties a staggering Rs 1,41,59,041.

The officials reportedly said it was the biggest single vehicle tax recovery in many years.

Officials said they would continue cracking down on luxury vehicles evading tax payments.

Tax officials in a similar crackdown in February seized 30 luxury cars including Ferraris, Porsches, BMWs, Audis, Aston Martins and Range Rovers for evading tax, according to NDTV.
