New Delhi has raised concerns with Tehran over the disappearance of three Indian nationals who traveled to Iran for business purposes, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed that the three individuals lost contact with their families shortly after arriving in Iran. The Indian government has taken the matter up with both the Iranian Embassy in Delhi and Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.

"We are in regular touch with the families of the missing individuals," Jaiswal stated, adding that the MEA and the Indian Embassy in Tehran are making all possible efforts to locate them.

Expressing confidence in Iran’s cooperation, Jaiswal noted, “We hope to receive the necessary assistance from Iranian authorities to ensure the safety of our citizens.”

Reports suggest that the missing individuals had traveled to Iran in December. The Indian government continues to monitor the situation closely while coordinating efforts to secure their safe return.
