New Delhi: The News Broadcasts Standards Authority (NBSA) has ordered Times Now to apologise to activist Sanjuktha Basu following the incident where she was insulted on live television during a debate. The NBSA has directed the channel to broadcast the apology at 9 PM on October 27th.

The apology should be submitted within a week and the offending portions of the show in which she had been insulted should be removed from YouTube the NBSA said.

Action was taken against Times Now in April of 2018 after Basu was called "anti-Hindu" and accused of being part of "Rahul Gandhi's troll army". Citing delay in the case, SanjukthaBasu had moved the Supreme Court on Saturday asking for a swifter decision. The NBSA had only accepted her complaint 18 months after the incident.
