Chennai: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor-politician Vijay, will on Sunday hold a large-scale training session for over 20,000 polling agents and party workers to familiarize them with the ‘My TVK’ mobile application, developed for its ongoing digital membership drive.

The training will be held simultaneously across 26 corporation districts, covering 15,652 polling stations in 54 Assembly constituencies. District secretaries and IT wing administrators will lead the sessions locally, with LED screen demonstrations providing step-by-step instructions on using the app.

TVK general secretary N Anand said that a team of technical experts from the party headquarters would monitor the exercise and provide on-site assistance. “This exercise is crucial to prepare our cadre for digital coordination and member engagement. It will strengthen our ground presence and ensure seamless digital enrolment,” he said in a statement.

The ‘My TVK’ app has been developed to digitize membership registration, booth-level coordination and volunteer tracking, and is expected to play a key role in the party’s 2026 Assembly election preparations. Vijay had launched the second phase of the membership drive and unveiled the app at the party headquarters in Panaiyur earlier this year.

Vijay founded TVK in February 2024, ending years of speculation about his entry into politics. The party has focused on transparent governance, youth empowerment and education reforms, and has gained significant support among young and urban voters.

With the latest training exercise, TVK aims to demonstrate its emphasis on technology-driven political engagement and grassroots mobilization as it expands its membership base.
